Flynco constructed the award-winning Maumelle Library for the Central Arkansas Library System, recognized by the Arkansas Chapter of the American Institute of Architects for its innovative design. Distinctive features include large glue-laminated beams with tongue-and-groove ceilings, which lend the interior a warm, natural feel. Geothermal lake loops beneath Lake Valencia provided energy-efficient heating and cooling, underscoring the library’s commitment to sustainability.

After completing the original building, Flynco returned as Construction Manager to execute a significant expansion and remodel. This addition incorporated the same style of glue-laminated beams and wood decking, a matching stone veneer exterior, and a skylight, creating five individual reading rooms and an additional meeting room. The existing geothermal system was replaced with drilled geothermal loop wells to enhance energy efficiency, and a new parking lot was constructed to accommodate the library’s increased traffic. Throughout the project, Flynco ensured that the construction process maintained the library’s award-winning aesthetic while adding valuable new amenities for the community.
